Midleton Agricultural Show Society, Rules and Regulations.

1. Intending exhibitors are requested to peruse the rules and regulations and be prepared to comply with them.

2. Exhibits of the Indoor Setion will be judged on Saturday (day before the show). Exhibitors please note – all entries in these classes must be in place by 3:30pm on Saturday and cannot be removed before 4:30pm on Sunday. 

3. No entries will be accepted after the stipulated closing date.

4. A person entering an Exhibit and failing to send same for exhibition shall forfeit the entry fee.

5. Intending exhibitors are requested to peruse the rules and regulations and be prepared to comply with them.

6. The Society reserves the right to alter or cancel any class or competition at any time.
7. The Society takes no responsibility for accidents.
8. Objections to any winner in any class or competition must be Lodged in writing with €50, which is forfeited if objection is not upheld, to the secretary within 1 Hour of event /competition.
9. Exhibitors are to understand that although every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure the safety and welfare of animals The society will not be responsible for loss or damage or accident of any kind that may occur neither will the society be accountable for any accident that may occur to any person attending the show whether as a visitor exhibitor, or otherwise.
10. The Committee reserve the right to refuse entries, varying, the prize list,or arrangements,or removing any animal or other exhibit at any time during the show.The Society shall not in any way be liable for any claim for compensation or otherwise arising out of the holding, abandonment or postponement of the show, nor for any claim arising out of or connected with the show.
11. Exhibitors accept that the Judges’ decision is FINAL in all cases. ANY abuse/harassment of Judges/Stewards/Officials will not be tolerated.
12. Exhibitors/Competitors must obey the stewards at all times.
13. Protective head gear conforming to recommended kitemark standard and fitted with an adjustable harness.It is compulsory for all riders under 16yrs and for riders in the working hunter horse and working hunter pony competitions and ridden show classes.
14. Anyone found interfering with any exhibit or disarranging any display will be asked to leave the grounds, For conveniences of exhibitors the society has arranged a veterinary surgeon will be on call at short notice to attend to sick or injured animals, but fees for this service will be payable by the owner concerned.

15. Exhibitors of animals are requested to have their own Insurance Cover & Public Liability.

16. The Irish Shows Association Levy of 5% will be deducted from all prize money in the relevant sections: horses, ponies, donkeys, cattle, sheep.

17. Winners of qualifiers are themselves responsible for entering their animals (or exhibits) for the FINAL. On completion of judging, they must attend the Show Secretary’s Office within ONE HOUR, and complete the necessary documentation and pay entry fee for the FINAL.

18. The Society will not be responsible for any errors in either Entry Forms, Schedule, or Show Book.

19. Cars are parked at owners’ risk.

20. Any handler whose animal is not under his/her control may be asked to remove said animal from the arena or show field at the discretion of the Safety Officers, Judge or Stewards.

21. Trade Stand Owners must have their own Public Liability Insurance Certificate.

22. All Exhibitors must display their numbers so that they can be easily seen and read.

23. Safety Officers must be obeyed at all times.

24. Only competent persons are allowed to exhibit animals.

25. All cattle entries must comply with Department of Agriculture regulations.

26. One person only will be admitted free with each livestock exhibit, but two persons may be admitted with a bull.

27. The society requires the winners of cups and trophies,to sign for receipt of same and give an undertaking to return same in as good a condition as it was received at least 28th days before the next show.
28.  Withdrawal of entries are non refundable.
29. ALL EXHIBITORS are advised to have their Public Liability Insurance up to date.

Prize winners please note all cheques must be cashed within 3 months of show date

Important notice to all owners /ehxhibitors involved in the showing of animals.
The Irish Shows Association would advise all Animal owners who have their Animals Insured to have their Insurance cover extended to cover them while showing Animals at Shows we understand that it costs very little or nothing at all depending on who you have Insurance cover with. The reason for us in giving you this advice is that if your animal were to lash out and injure someone or damage someone’s property and it is established that your animal was out of control at the time you may be held responsible or partly responsible for any injury or damage caused and could end up paying all or part of any settlement reached.
